by Ken Hawkins on February 22nd, 2024
In September I shared the emotional results of not forgiving. Today I will share about the spiritual results of not forgiving and what we need to do to keep in fellowship with God the Father.  Read More

Unforgiveness: The Way To Kill Growth In A Church
by Ken Hawkins on September 27th, 2023
I was a DOM for 7 years and as I traveled around to the 28 different churches in Lawrence County, I have found the biggest hindrance of church growth in the association is the attitude of unforgiveness. I have found it in the smallest of church to the biggest of church in which brothers and sisters cannot forgive one another.  Wayne Stiles shares this about unforgiveness: Would you like to hold a ...  Read More

It Is Harvest Time
by Ken Hawkins on May 19th, 2023
Do you know the number one evangelism tool the church has today is VBS? Number two is camp. We are in the middle of the harvest season for souls. As the church sends children and youth to camp and hosts day camp and VBS, many will be challenged with the claims of Christ. That those who know Christ will be challenged to embrace Christian principles and grow in their walk.  Read More

The Rolling Stone And The Resurrection
by Ken Hawkins on April 6th, 2023
It is sunrise on Sunday morning and three women, Mary the mother of James, Mary Magdalene, and Salome bring spices are going to the tomb of Jesus to anoint the body for proper burial. They did not have time on the day of Crucifixion to complete the burial process because the Special Sabbath started at sundown. The women were probably the last to leave at the Cross at Golgotha and the first to come to the tomb on Sunday. There were discussing how are we going to move the stone? The stone was at least 2000 to 3000 pounds and was in a groove that sloped downward to help to seal the tomb. They were on a mission but it was going to be impossible for the three of them to move the stone!   Read More

For my blog this time I am using a couple of devotionals from A. W. Tozer. As we pray for revival and spiritual awakening in our community, it starts with us personally in our personal life.   Read More

Revival and Spiritual Awaking
by Ken Hawkins on January 18th, 2023
We are living in a post-Christian Era. We look around and we see the world following a couple of scripture verses. Judges 21:25b “Everyone did what was right in his own eyes” and in Romans 1:28 “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting.”  Read More

Joseph: The Common, Godly Man
by Ken Hawkins on December 14th, 2022
Have you ever thought of who Joseph, Mary’s husband, was and what type of person he was? I have many times. Without Joseph there would not have been any nativity scene or home for Jesus to go to. Without Joseph, who would take care of Mary and the infant Jesus? Who would have taught Jesus a trade and how to take care of Mary and the family when he Joseph, was gone? Joseph is very important and very much involved in Jesus first coming.  Read More

Being Faithful To The Lord
by Ken Hawkins on September 22nd, 2022
In these last days, we need to be faithful to the Lord. There is so much teaching that is contrary to Biblical principles that it makes us feel odd, and mad, where did that come from? But it is not the first time that the church has faced this. Paul encourages us in Col. 3:23 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men” Let us continue faithfully serving the Lord through five different actions.  Read More

Why Do You Pray?
by Ken Hawkins on August 31st, 2022
I ask a simple question. Why do you pray? Many of us pray for healing those who are sick (James 5:14). Do you find that most of your prayers are for the sick and for your own well-being? That is good, but it is only a small part of what our prayer life should be.   Read More

It Is Harvest Time
by Ken Hawkins on June 22nd, 2022
Do you know the number one evangelism tool the church has today is VBS? Number two is camp! I was excited to see one of our children come forward at the service on Sunday to announce her decision to follow the Lord in baptism after accepting Christ as her Savior at children’s camp. I think her family was overcome with great joy as they had been praying for that decision!   Read More

Embracing The Moment
by Ken Hawkins on May 4th, 2022
I come to you as a follower of Christ, a husband, a father, and a grandfather. Realizing that God is using me in these responsibilities. They all intertwine. The key verse that I like to use is Ephesians 5:15-16 ESV, “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.” I want challenge you to “Embrace the Moment”. We each have 24 hours a day, 1,440 minutes, and 86,400 seconds per day. Are we making the most of them as a follower of Christ, spouse, parent, and some of us grandparents?  Read More
